Imperial Majesty Cruise Line's HistoryThe grand tradition of the classic ocean voyage continues aboard the Imperial Majesty's Regal Empress. Her "Old World Craftsmanship" and intimate size make her one of the unique passenger cruise liners based in the United States. The Regal Empress takes the voyager back to the "Golden Age" of ocean travel, an era when lavish accoutrements were standard shipboard requirements. She was originally built on the Island of Greece for North Atlantic sailing between New York, Halifax and Southampton. Her inviting swimming pool, spacious outdoor deck areas and refreshing air-conditioning would make her destined to become a Caribbean cruise ship. In 1997 the Regal Empress underwent a refit that brought her up to the latest international standards. Other upgrades included a new buffet area, a playroom for kids, an internet cafe to satisfy the needs of modern cruisers. At the same time, attention was paid to maintain the vintage features and ambience to compliment the ship's rich history.
